Accelerate
Fall Internship
Nashville, TN
Overview:
This fall, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities and Communities’ Accelerate program invites undergraduate (juniors, seniors, or recent graduates) and graduate students to start their professional journey in our clean transportation transition.
The Clean Cities and Communities Coalition Network has been working at the forefront of the nation’s clean energy and economic security since 1993. These coalitions cultivate partnerships and find innovative ways to advance equitable, efficient, and clean transportation fuels and technologies. Clean Cities and Communities strives to reduce petroleum consumption in the transportation sector in nearly 100 communities across the country.
As the workforce is continually growing, we invite you to join us and learn more about how to shift the way our nation thinks about and accesses clean transportation.
The Clean Cities and Communities internship will give students studying communications, public relations, business, marketing, engineering or environmental sciences, the opportunity to grow public awareness and expand the markets of advanced vehicle technologies, alternative fuels, and practices that reduce the consumption of petroleum.
Intern Responsibilities:
Interns in this competitively selected program will gain first-hand experience working with dynamic Clean Cities and Communities directors and their stakeholders, to make our future better together. Students have participated in a vast array of transportation-related environmental projects, including engaging in community outreach, developing social media campaigns, organizing fleet events, convening stakeholders, and much more.

All majors accepted. Emphasis on: Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Engineering, and Environmental Sciences. Positions are 15 or 20 hours per week (determined by the intern and Coalition) for 14 weeks. Internship dates: approximately September 2, 2025, through December 12, 2025.
