OVERVIEW OF THE ORGANIZATION AND THE ROLE
TANTA, Inc. was formed in 2022 to support, resource, and cultivate the leadership of women and girls in resettled/Immigrant communities. Rooted in the ideology of collective thriving, we seek to harness the power of collective efficacy to responsibly address harm, as well as promote the well-being of women, and girls. TANTA’s initiatives are directly related to, and integrated with our 3 pillars: Wellbeing, Safety, and Self-Sufficiency and range from economic empowerment, academic support, intergenerational leadership development, IPV/DV Interventions and health care justice.
TANTA, Inc. is seeking a creative, organized, and socially conscious intern to support our outreach and communication efforts that uplift immigrant and refugee communities. The intern will contribute to storytelling, branding, website/social media outreach, program content creation and event planning activities that amplify TANTA’s mission and expand community engagement in TANTA’s initiatives e.g. Leadership Development, Youth Mentorship, etc.
OPPORTUNITY / PROJECT DUTIES

Communications:
- Assist with creating, editing, scheduling social media content (graphics, captions, videos).
- Draft and edit newsletters, blog posts, press releases, and other outreach materials.
- Support website updates, content uploads, and digital storytelling.
- Help maintain brand consistency across platforms and campaigns.
- Track engagement analytics and assist in strategy improvements.
- Help further develop program descriptions and other written materials

Outreach:
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and promoting events (e.g., workshops, cultural celebrations, training sessions).
- Support logistics: scheduling, RSVP tracking, volunteer coordination, and event setup.
- Design flyers, invitations, and promotional materials using Canva or similar tools.
- Capture event photos, videos, and testimonials for follow-up media.
QUALIFICATIONS
- This specific Work U opportunity is only available to COAS majors
- Experience working, volunteering, or engaging with people from different cultures
- strongly preferred.
- Passion and empathy for working with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Comfort working in flexible and ever-changing environments.
SKILLS THAT INTERN WILL DEVELOP
- Gain real-world experience in nonprofit communication and event coordination.
- Build a portfolio of written, visual, and digital content.
- Develop skills in community engagement, storytelling, and project management.
- Receive a letter of recommendation upon successful completion.
- Be part of an empowering intergenerational network of changemakers, and develop capacity for cross-cultural practice.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Due to TANTA’s work with vulnerable populations, a background check is required and can be administered in the first month of the internship
