Events Representative Intern

Internship Description:
As a Dreamstyle intern, you will gain hands-on experience working in our home remodeling industry while collaborating closely with a mentor. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in events, marketing, communications, sales, and many other avenues. Overview
50% Hands on Event Experience

Learning Objectives
1. The ideal candidate will gain experience in project management, event execution, and enhancing brand image.
2. The events intern will acquire understanding on how to convert conversations into customers, gain knowledge and hands-on experience at a variety of events within the community, and have flexibility to develop tools, marketing materials, and literature to strengthen our events department.

Duties & Responsibilities
▪ Contribute and gain hands-on event execution experience of a variety events:
- Home shows, Festivals, Farmers Markets, Holiday Celebrations, Carnivals, Non-Profit, Home & Garden shows, Fairs, Community Events (presented by Chamber’s or City’s), Fundraisers, Active/Outdoor, etc.
▪ Learn and apply the essential practice of how to engage a customer and convert a conversation into a customer
▪ Hands-on event experience (manning the event):
- From prepping, setting up, and tearing down an event, to learning how to network with other major event coordinators, to understand the process of registering and paying for events, and more!
▪ Research and pre-qualifies events in the Boise, Treasure Valley, & other Idaho communities
▪ Freedom to research and innovate strategic planning campaigns via social media and present for implementation
▪ Build upon current partnerships Dreamstyle has with event coordinators and suggest ideas for other partnerships
▪ Customer and client relationship nourishment
▪ Putting together event kits: includes event materials, giveaways, rewards, etc.
▪ Grow in knowledge (i.e. read business, events, communications, and marketing related materials to increase knowledge then present new learning to mentor)

Internship Benefits
The intern will receive hourly pay and may work with their University Department Internship Coordinator should they wish to receive academic credit for this experience. They will have great mentorship, opportunities for hands-on experience, and experiential learning.
*Great potential to make much more than $11.00/hour through bonuses depending on work results!
