Web Development Intern
Treefort Music Fest is a B-Corporation and will be entering its ninth year in 2020. Conceived as an extension of the current momentum in the Boise music scene and art scene at large, each March Treefort plays host to hundreds of emerging bands from across the globe as well as a homebase for many art forms in the Boise community. Treefort Music Fest is proudly recognized as the Cultural Ambassador for the City of Boise (2015-2017) and has an attendance of about 25,000 each year.
WEB DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP
Duties will be varied but may consist of the following:
- Maintaining the Treefort website
- Building new features and sections for the Treefort website
- Helping other team members use the website
- Maintaining accessible website code base using Git and a modern development workflow within WordPress
Skills and Expertise:
- WordPress CMS
- HTML/CSS/SCSS/JS/jQuery
- PHP/MySQL
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs
- Your own computer (remote position)
- Git (we use GitHub to manage our code repositories)
- Familiarity with WCAG (preferably 2.0+) accessibility standards a must
- Experience with Trello and Slack (or similar) is preferred
- Familiarity with webpack, node, NPM, yarn, and composer a plus
- Familiarity with Laravel Blade templates a plus
- Familiarity with SEO a plus
- Familiarity with Sage 9 WordPress starter framework a big plus
Expect to gain:
- Develop your existing skills helping run a website that sees upwards of 100,000 visits/mo
- Knowledge of modern workflows within the WordPress environment
- Experience using PHP and MySQL in an efficient and maintainable way
- Experience working on a multi-faceted and multi-discipline team
Reports directly to the Lead Web Developer, Marketing Director, and Marketing Manager
