Entry - Level Systems/Network Administrator (Splunk) - Job ID: 17538

Jack Henry & Associates, a leading provider of technology solutions and payment processing services primarily for the financial services industry, is hiring an Entry-Level Systems/Network Administrator (Splunk) to join our growing Incident and Threat Management – Engineering Team within the Cyber Security Services Department. 

This is an entry-level position that will assist with the management of, ingest of data into, knowledge management, and report creation within our Splunk platform. The position will require a self-starter with a passion and ability to learn how to support Jack Henry & Associates’ use of Splunk in the analysis of Big Data.

This position can be based to work out of any of the following Jack Henry office locations: Springfield, MO (Primrose), Allen, TX, Alpharetta, GA, Charlotte, NC, or be 100% remote from any US location.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with system or networking monitoring elements such as SNMP or Syslog.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 1 year IT-related experience.
  • Experience with a scripting language such as Python or Powershell.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with log aggregation applications such as Splunk, Elastic, ELSA, syslog-ng, or rsyslog.
  • Working knowledge of Linux or Unix-based operation systems.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 
  • Monitors systems for optimum performance and availability.
  • Installs, configures and maintains systems, such as LAN, WAN, Internet and/or data networks.
  • Implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. 
  • Troubleshoots and resolves customer and internally-reported system problems.
  • Implements and monitors corporate security policies.
  • Documents and implements system procedures, policies and events.
  • Participates in on-call 24x7 support rotation.
  • Assists in performing essential functions required for effective system backup and restore testing.
  • Assists in performing periodic recovery testing of DR plans.
  • May manage data access and data permissions.
  • Assists in managing user accounts.
  • May assist support groups with applications installed on various servers.
