Market Analyst Intern
Short-term, paid contract position: June/July 2020
AllSides is seeking a Market Analyst Intern for Summer 2020. The ideal candidate is an MBA student or graduate interested in entrepreneurship, market development, media/news, and data analytics.
This is a paid, part-time internship that will afford the candidate the opportunity to work closely with experienced leaders in technology (Microsoft, Netscape) and consulting (McKinsey) as they and their entrepreneurial team prepare to raise Venture Capital investment after tremendous growth. We are a for-profit, social-good company that is focused on “fixing” the social and information flows on the internet so that we can all bridge political divides and improve information flows on the internet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist AllSides leadership in landscaping the market opportunities for the AllSides platform and suite of products. Evaluate the potential business-to-business demand for AllSides news, dialogue, and data analytics.
- Research and define the business-to-business sector market opportunities, size the total addressable market, identify likely competitors, and highlight AllSides’ competitive advantages.
- Follow-on projects could include researching other industry sectors (health, finance), testing product/market fit, and/or preparing investor pitch documents.
- Create project deliverables, including written summaries of TAM (Total Addressable Market), list of main customer segments and key buying factors, primary competitors, and AllSides competitive positioning relative to competitors.
Qualifications
- Current MBA student or business major college graduate
- Minimum 2 years of college-level business coursework (business, computer science, or data analytics major preferred), or relevant business/market analytics work experience
- Ability to conduct research with competency and attention to detail
- Strong writing skills
- Self-starter, willingness to take initiative
- Comfort with ambiguity
- Comfort with general web-based research and ability to access internet from a home office
- Facility with Google Drive
- Preferred but not required: Background in tech, computer science, and/or business data analytics and start-up company market development experience
