Communications Intern

The Communications intern works closely with the Communications and Digital Coordinator, Ruthy Rickenbacker. They will take part in the foundations of Community Action Works’s online outreach, helping with social media, content creation, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities 
  • Manage Community Action Works’ social media, especially Twitter.
  • Track & maintain records of news articles, social media hits, and monitor our online presence.
  • Create content online, such as graphics & various posts.
  • Recruit supporters out to events*, including movie screenings, rallies, press conferences, and public hearings.
  • Work to get Community Action Works in the media by helping with press events and writing letters to the editor.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks.

  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Graphic design
  • Desire to develop event planning and outreach skills
  • Social media aptitude
  • Must learn quickly and work efficiently

*all events will be held online for the foreseeable future

Click here to apply. This is an unpaid fall semester internship. We are able to work with students applying for course credit and scholarship through their school. Minimum commitment of 12 hours per week. 

Typically this internship is located at our Boston, MA office. However, with the current COVID-19 situation, this internship will be remote. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a connection to Massachusetts and/or other northeastern states in which we work (CT, RI, VT, NH, ME).
