Software Engineer -Salesforce Commerce Cloud

Overview

Otter Products is currently seeking a Software Engineer with experience in eCommerce integration, development, and cloud-based architecture. You can be based 100% remote or in our Fort Collins, CO office. In this role, you will join our Application Development team – while working closely with our Marketing, Customer Service and Sales teams. As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance for our brand websites, as well as develop new features, resolve defects utilize and enhance our two primary commerce platforms, Salesforce Commerce Cloud (B2C) and Salesforce B2B Commerce.
 
The successful candidate will have the technical background and previous experience working with eCommerce platforms. We are seeking a developer with functional knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, Angular JS, React, and Java (and/or the Salesforce proprietary languages of B2C Commerce Script and ISML, Lightning Component Framework, Apex, and Visualforce.) We will also welcome candidates with additional competencies in PHP, .NET, AWS development, SQL and database design concepts, and Sugar or Salesforce CRM development.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business users and development teams to transform functional requirements into software solutions, focusing on development of Otter’s Salesforce clouds, specifically Salesforce Commerce Cloud (a.k.a. B2C, Demandware.)
  • Work with more senior level software engineers to ensure software solutions follow sound architectural principles and best practices.
  • Design and develop software solutions; troubleshoot software issues to reach resolution
  • Work on clearly defined projects involving a limited amount of complexity, with regular review of output.
  • Applies basic knowledge of established systems software development principles and best practices to independently resolve problems and make minor changes to existing processes/systems.
  • Maintain and support a secure, robust, and maintainable software environment to support business needs.
  • Estimate the level of effort to complete discrete tasks to ensure timely completion of tasks and predictable resource allocations.
  • Support and participate in software testing, deployment, and maintenance activities on supported applications including but not limited to eCommerce, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) business software.
  • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other Information Technology related field preferred. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience required. Experience in software engineering preferred.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript framework and jQuery required.
  • Sales Force Commerce Cloud (a.k.a. B2C, Demandware) and SFRA development work experience strongly preferred.
  • Sales Force Sales Cloud or Salesforce B2B Commerce (a.k.a. Cloud Craze) work experience welcome.
