Sales Development Representative

Position Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Sales Development Representative role is an essential sales partner in the USS sales process to grow revenue with current Customers, expand our Customer base and efficiently connect potential customers with sales staff. The SDR will be responsible for properly qualifying and managing all the sales leads received through the various data feeds and inbound phone calls as well as making outbound sales calls related to sales initiatives and campaigns. This role should have a clear understanding of the process to identify customer ranking and thresholds of need, as well as how to handle/team sell and delegate accordingly. The SDR will also be a key player in Opportunity Team selling of projects that fall within the Opportunity Team guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Demonstrate strong safety awareness and leadership
  • Respond, engage and qualify inbound leads and inquiries from various sources such as web, Dodge, IIR, Construction Points, Google, LinkedIn
  • Partner with sales and marketing to execute proactive outbound calls and campaigns related to lapsed customers, accounts with declining revenue, repeat projects, job expansion and cross-selling initiatives
  • Contact potential customers and create long term partnerships
  • Sell all product offerings available in the specific market
  • Conduct effective sales presentations on company's product line in response to the unique needs of each customer, as applicable.
  • Hold professionally engaging conversations over the phone and via e-mail
  • Engage current users to expand awareness, educate, ask for referrals, identify new opportunities and develop account intelligence
  • Industry knowledge: Ag, Industrial, Construction, Residential, Gov., commercial, events
  • Cold call into prospects generated by variety of outside sources
  • Outbound calls to support campaigns and initiatives
  • Create target prospects lists and penetrate key accounts
  • Follow-up on inbound marketing leads and identify qualified opportunities providing appropriate levels of information at the right time for interested prospects
  • Be aware of competitor activities in the region and assess opportunities for business development.
  • Work to revenue targets and KPI's as set by Supervisor.
  • Set appointments for sales team when a lead reaches a qualified stage.
  • Utilize outside sources to assist in driving KPI's and manage intelligently.
  • Ensure successful follow through of sales cycle by maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification in CRM application
  • Ensure customer's needs are met while following through the sales process
  • Establish a quality relationship with Territory Managers and Director of Sales.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing team members on strategic sales approach
  • Profile strategic accounts identifying key individuals, researching and obtaining business requirements and presenting solutions to start the sale cycle
  • Keep up to date with industry news to identify opportunities for new business.
  • Act as the subject matter expert of all USS products and services.
  • Educate customers on their LOB to expand their spend
  • Produce quotes and orders through Salesforce.com
  • Document sales activities and leverage business intelligence through Salesforce.com
  • Know the key steps of projects and project management
  • Ability to navigate Salesforce.com effectively and efficiently
  • Adding: Projects, Contacts, Accounts, other applicable data entry
  • Champion, demonstrate, and uphold our values: Easy, Safe, & Clean.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 years of related sales or customer experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of building business and hitting sales targets.
SKILLS:
  • Strong PC proficiency (Microsoft Office, CRM, etc.)
  • Customer Care Experience
  • Customer Relationship development
  • Ability to solution sell through value alignment to differentiate USS offerings from the competition
