Training and Development Student Assistant

Job Summary
Properly onboarding new employees is critical to creating a productive workplace environment and retaining top talent. Boise State Admissions is seeking to hire a student assistant to help with training, development, and onboarding of new employees in the Admissions office. In this position, you’ll focus on building a student employee development plan that guides student staff throughout their employment and aids in marketing their acquired skills to future employers. You will also get the opportunity to assist in developing the onboarding process for the Admissions office with a special focus on the recruitment team.
 
This position seeks a highly motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills and the desire to improve processes and enhance student career development. You will be a part of a dynamic, cohesive team that will help shape your Boise State story and allow you to gain hands-on experience with training and development.
 
Position Details
●     1 year position starting June 1, 2021 - June 1, 2022
●     10 hours per week at $10/hr
●     Work study and non-work study students, with preference given to applicants with work study
●     ** This is fully remote with the potentially to occasionally work in the office**
 
Minimum Requirements
●     Ability to multitask
●     Organizational skills
●     Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
●     Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
●     Capacity to work both independently and in a team setting
●     Proficient analytical skills with the ability to collect and analyze information, problem-solve and make decisions
●     Demonstrate professionalism, timeliness, self-motivation, and ability to give/receive constructive feedback
●     Have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA at the time of application
●     Be in good judicial/conduct standing with the university at the time of application and maintain good standing through the duration of the position
●     Upper Division Human Resource Management or Business Majors (preferred, not required)
 
Tasks & Job Responsibilities
●     Create and implement a student employee development plan for student employees in the admission office with supervisory support
●     Create and administer a student employee assessment plan
●     Analyze employee survey data
●     Assist with New Employee Orientation (NEO) related duties, including the creation of NEO binders (checklists) containing pertinent information provided to new employees.
●     Shadow and/or assist your immediate supervisor to provide onboarding and continuing education for professional staff
