Economic Research Intern

Project Description and Primary Responsibilities:
  • Initiate a literature review of similarly themed research papers
  • Draft an outline for the paper,
  • Conduct interviews and gather/analyze data from key stakeholders in the Boise community
  • Draw conclusions from data and distill them into digestible bits of information. 
  • Document the methodology in a manner that clearly communicates the process to those with varying levels of economic understanding.
  • Develop a summary PowerPoint presentation and present the paper’s findings to Boise Nice Project board members, staff from the Boise Chamber of Commerce and other key stakeholders.

The intern will be asked to attend occasional virtual and in-person events over the course of the internship.

Required Skills and Qualifications of Applicants:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at BSU, such as economics, public policy, or business.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to carry out assigned tasks to completion.
  • Ability to work independently, while learning from members of the BNP team.
  • Ability to cope with change.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to complete work in a thorough and professional manner; attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organization skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks from a variety of staff simultaneously with minimum supervision.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft office; daily access to a computer, ability to work remotely.

This is a Bronco Corp Internship

  • Cannot exceed 29 hours per week (this includes other on-campus employment)
