Systems Analyst - EAM

Job Summary:

The Enterprise Asset Management team is seeking a motivated, self-driven, creative Systems Analyst to support and enhance our asset management system. As a key member of our team, you'll be crafting solutions for a large scale application, IBM Maximo, that is utilized across our corporation. Development solutions include using SQL, JavaScript, Python and front end configurations. You will interact directly with customers to define, build and deploy solutions while providing an outstanding customer support experience.

Associate Systems Analyst: Completes software development assignments including coding, testing, debugging and installing programs according to written specifications, and department policies, procedures, and standards. Assist with design of enhancements to existing systems. Mentors with and provides assistance to the System Analyst/Architect.

Systems Analyst I: Under direction, supports high level design and development of software functionality to interface and supplement the IBM Maximo platform.

Systems Analyst II: In addition, works with our internal users to identify business operational needs through the use of technology. Studies existing business functions and system applications to design, develop and implement the data structures, programs and documentation necessary to automate and enhance business processes. Provides direction and support to Level I Systems Analyst.

Each Systems Analyst Level will require an escalated level of application development and analysis experience.

Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Systems Analyst:
Must possess a working knowledge of computer programming normally acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in computer science, information technology or a related field or equivalent experience.

Systems Analyst I:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Two years of professional experience that includes relevant development tools and business analysis review in areas of system design and application development.

Systems Analyst II:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Four years of Information Technology experience with proven record of increasing work
responsibility, effective analysis and project management.

Key Skills & Competencies
• Experience supporting and developing for an EAM Package.
• Experience with Report writing
• Knowledge in SQL, Python, JavaScript and programming methodologies

Additional Information
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
• Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
• May be required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel as needed to achieve objectives.
• May be required to work evenings and weekends as part of an on-call rotation.


Position location: Bismarck, ND or Boise, ID preferred but may consider a remote location in the United States where MDU Resources is currently authorized to do business.
