Systems Analyst Assoc, I, II - ERP

Job Summary:
MDU Resources Group, Inc.is looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and safety-focused to join our team. As a Systems Analyst, you provide support, analysis, and development activities for large applications within MDU Resources Group, Inc. This position acts as an engaged and effective partner for our end users. Candidates should be able to provide analysis, requirement development, design, development, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of complex and diverse applications, systems, and processes.

Associate Systems Analyst: Completes software development assignments including coding, testing, debugging and installing programs according to written specifications, and department policies, procedures, and standards. Assist with design of enhancements to existing systems. Mentors with and provides assistance to the System Analyst/Architect.

Systems Analyst I:
Under direction, support high level design of complex software functionality to interface and supplement various applications across the company. Support the development of the essential core design of features meeting the needs across various applications throughout the organization.

Systems Analyst II:
In addition, works with our internal users to identify business operational needs through the use of technology. Study existing business functions and system applications in order to design, develop and implement the data structures, programs and documentation necessary to automate and enhance the companies’ business processes. Provide direction and support to Level I Systems Analysts.

Each Systems Analyst Level will require an escalated level of application development and analysis experience.

Position Location: Bismarck ND or Boise ID preferred but may consider a remote location in the United States where MDU Resources is currently authorized to do business.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field or equivalent experience.

Associate Systems Analyst:
Must possess a working knowledge of computer programming normally acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in computer science, information technology or a related field or equivalent experience.

Systems Analyst I:
Two years of professional experience that includes relevant development tools and business analysis review in areas of system design and application development.

Systems Analyst II:
Four years of Information Technology experience with proven record of increasing work responsibility, effective analysis and project management.
Key Skills & Competencies
• Experience supporting and developing for an ERP system (e.g., Oracle JD Edwards, UKG Pro, PowerPlan)
• Experience with Report writing applications (e.g., Cognos BI, Bottomline Transform, Oracle BI Publisher, ReportsNow, Spreadsheet Server)
• Knowledge in SQL
