'21-'22 2-Gen Engagement Coordinator VISTA
UWPC’s goal is to build strong families in high-need, low-access communities by implementing projects and strategies that break down barriers to both children and their parents’ success. UWPC is entering the final year of the three-year VISTA project focused on building intentional community collaborations using the two-generation approach developed by the Aspen Institute. The VISTA member will fight poverty by serving as the Community Engagement Coordinator for this project, engaging community members to assess community needs, support students, young children and their families, expanding and strengthening partnerships with the collaborations and the communities at large, while cultivating resources (volunteer, in-kind and monetary) and building collaboration capacity and sustainability.
Member Duties : The Member will serve with United Way of Pierce County to provide low-income, low-access families by working to develop collaborations and partnerships that support the needs of students, young children and their families designed to move them from crisis to stability and towards self-sufficiency using a 2-generation approach to human service delivery. The Member will also build community capacity by coordinating and managing volunteer programs/projects that support children and families across Pierce County.
