Project Management Assistant Internship - Work U Fall 2023
Overview
The Idaho STEM Action Center is a dynamic state agency under the governor’s office that focuses on creating innovative STEM opportunities for educators, students, communities and industry to build a competitive workforce and economy. To that end, we sponsor/host a number of outreach activities including student competitions, professional development, grant opportunities, community presentations and industry expositions, to name a few. Opportunity/Project Duties:
The Work U student will provide vital support to a small, energetic team that is responsible for an incredible number of programs and help us make sure they are delivered with the highest level of quality possible. There are multiple program and functional areas, listed below, which students will have the opportunity to support and also hone their skills:
- Events and Logistics – Generate social media interest; promote events; recruit volunteers; correspond with sponsors and volunteers; help with event planning, execution, set up and take down across multiple program areas.
- Grants – Research grant opportunities; track professional development participation and assign grades; analyze i-STEM survey data, evaluate grants;
- Computer Science (support CS program manager on a variety of projects) – Help formulate rubrics for the evaluation of grant applications; support INDEEDS awards; help with Boise Start-Up Week sponsorship logistics; evaluate grants; solidify sponsors, events & judges, and, if necessary, judge events; and undertake special projects as needed;
- Foundation – Salesforce data entry/conversion; update partner database; assist with event setup and takedown;
