Communication Specialist/Videographer
 
 
Work in a communications and marketing role in Boise State's Division of University Advancement, in the new Alumni and Friends Center. We create communications and marketing for donors and alumni in an effort to engage support for Boise State University.
 
Prefer: Jr./Sr. Communications, Film, Marketing, Media Arts, or English majors, or Non Profit minor. Will consider other majors also.
 
Skills needed to perform this role: 
·   Video production skills and interests
·   Strong verbal and writing
·   Experience or interests in social media 
This position requires someone who is a self-starter and deadline-driven individual who can manage multiple projects needs and deadlines with minimal supervision. This is a great opportunity for exploring creativity and learning while creating digital media assets.
 
 
Preferred Skills
·   Familiar with WordPress, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and a variety of other tools. Any experience in these platforms is helpful. 
 
·   You will have the opportunity to:
o   Shoot, edit and produce video content for digital platforms.
o   Conduct interviews with alumni, donors, and students.
o   Write social media content in support of digital marketing messages and video content.
o   Produce graphics and photography.
o   Publish news and updates in our social media channels.

University Advancement is the primary friend and fundraising arm of Boise State University. We build support for Boise State through donor cultivation, alumni relations, public relations and prudent management of private support. University Advancement collaborates with the Boise State University Alumni Association, Boise State University Foundation, Bronco Athletic Association, and the Office of Communications and Marketing.

Compensation
$14 Per hour
20-25 hrs. per week
May include occasional evenings and weekends

Student Employment Job Posting – Student Graphic and Web Designer
University Advancement Communications Team
 
Hours: 10-15/week. To be worked Monday-Friday (predominantly in the office), may include occasional evenings and weekends. Flexible hours, set around school schedule.
 
Pay: $16.50/hour and suitable for internship credit(s).

The University Advancement communications team is a group of writers, designers, and content strategy professionals who create and manage communications, marketing and branding efforts targeted toward alumni, donors and fans of Boise State. Our work embodies the Boise State brand.
 
Our team is seeking a graphic design student applicant who enjoys staying immersed in art, design, and technology. As a student graphic designer within the University Advancement communications team, you will gain valuable experience with a visual style guide across multiple mediums. Our office uses industry standard equipment and software. A working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is required. Experience with WordPress is a plus.

Graphic and Web Design:f
·   Create design (print and digital) in response to communication needs.
·   Understand hierarchy, typography, aesthetics, composition and construction of meaningful layout.
·   Ensure design meets brand requirements and approved specifications
·   Ensure prepress files are correct when sent to printer, review and approve of proofs, and confirm completed artwork has been quality checked before delivery to the client.
o   Complete on-site press check for quality on certain deliverables.
·   Our team supports WordPress based websites. This role will assist with layout and visual presentation of sites, including finding, editing and optimizing photographs for web use.
·   Stay up-to-date with design skills, technical skills, and design trends.
