Purpose
This individual will have an extraordinary mentor throughout their internship, our amazing (and hilarious) Chief Financial Officer! Wow! This individual must be ready for an exciting experience at a fast-growing local company and motivated team player who can find excitement in all aspects of their work!
Duties and Responsibilities:
This intern’s primary projects will include Data and Financial Analysis (mostly project based / 80% of intern’s time) and General Bookkeeping (20% of intern’s time).
Product Management
- Manage purchasing and vendor processes for international and domestic product shipments
- Review and update monthly ordering forecasts
Monthly Reporting
- Work directly with CFO to deliver monthly financial reporting
Account Reconciliation & Validation
- Review daily transactions
- Validate monthly sales tax reports
- Reconcile chargebacks
- Validate W-9s for new independent contractors on a monthly basis
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a passion for uncovering the foundational patterns that drive a business. Experience with excel and SQL databases is a plus, but not required as we will work with you to develop those skill sets. By the end of the summer, you will be proficient in database queries, excel, and basic modeling.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program related to Finance or Accounting
- Must be detailed oriented and possess organizational skills
- A basic understanding of accounting principles
- Continuous learning mindset and methodology
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Must have a working knowledge of excel
- Must have a love for tacos or sushi!
