DEI and Mission Services Department - Work U

Overview: Trinity Health is a faith-based healthcare organization that holds the core values, mission, and promise to a high esteem. Two integral aspects of the organization are the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives and the Mission Integration Department. These departments share the responsibility of ensuring that all people who come in contact with Saint Alphonsus feel welcomed, safe, supported, and cared for at the highest capacity. These departments are seeking a motivated intern to participate in the educational work of both departments, as well as performing special duties and projects, assisting with daily tasks, and constructing new ideas and initiatives to further the effectiveness of these programs. 

 

Opportunity/Project Duties: 

This intern will complete work and projects for both departments and will have mentors in each. Duties will include:

  • Supporting The Saint John’s Bible (through facilitating and organizing reflections, materials, etc). 
  • Supporting with colleague wellness (through candy cart and support group/class facilitation)
  • Supporting project work in both departments 
  • Scheduling and facilitating meetings to drive project work forward
  • Assisting with general administrative duties and daily tasks
  • Identifying areas of growth and improvement, and assisting with providing solutions and strategy development 

 

Qualifications:

  • This opportunity will incorporate hybrid and in-person work hours
  • Passion for DEI and Mission Services (including enhancing health equity, providing a healing environment for all, and promoting upmost standard of conduct)
  • Passion/Interest in healthcare and leadership
  • Mature sense of presence 
  • Effective communication skills (in-person and virtual)
  • Understanding and respect for the Trinity Health Culture
  • Experience with organizing data/data bases
  • Ability to present to groups in an engaging and professional manner

 

Skills you will develop:

  • Meeting colleagues from across the system in a variety of roles
  • Understanding a corporate structure
  • Understanding a faith-based organization
  • Experience presenting to groups and individuals.
  • Working individually and with team members to identify growth opportunities and solutions

 

Please note that health insurance coverage is required for any student in this role. Students must also pass a 10-panel drug test, background check, and vaccine requirements.
