Marketing Intern - St. Vincent de Paul Southwest Idaho

Overview: St. Vincent de Paul Southwest Idaho is looking for a Marketing and Communications Intern through the Work U Program. St. Vincent de Paul is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preventing homelessness in our community. The person in this role will gain exclusive insight into the community education and promotion necessary for continued growth and advancement in the nonprofit sector.

Duties will include: 

You will help expand organizational communications and social media to more effectively engage community members and cultivate new volunteers, donors and community partners.

This role will use your creativity to create a cohesive aesthetic to our outreach, communication and educational materials and help us better tell the story of our impact and the issues facing our community. 

A successful Work U student will be:

  •  Ready to contribute and participate in real campaign planning and other marketing efforts: Social media, photography, event coordination, and content writing
  • Forthcoming, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to methods of communication and engagement avenues
  • Understanding and compassionate toward marginalized groups
  • Focused on the branding and positioning of the organization
  • Detail-oriented, while maintaining a sense of the broader vision
  • Self-starter and independent  

Skills you will develop:

  • Experience within the nonprofit sector
  • Awareness-based marketing ideology
  • Data analysis and goal restructuring
  • Campaign development and oversight
  • Design and implement marketing materials
  • Assist with event coordination and community activity

Onboarding requirements for Work U student(s):

  • Primary in-person locations will be at St. Vincent de Paul State Street Store & St. Vincent de Paul Admin Offices on Fairview Ave.
  • Reliable transportation to the Main Admin office (5256 W. Fairview) and all St. Vincent de Paul locations (spread from SE Boise to Caldwell) is needed
  • Personal laptop required for work
  • When at State Street Store, the workspace will be in shared spaces

What is Work U?

The first round of Work U applications is open from February 26 - March 8.

This position lives within the Work U program at Boise State. You may apply to up to three different Work U opportunities.  Work U is a unique internship program that gives you hands-on professional experience, clarity on your career goals, an opportunity to be mentored, focused classroom time, and a chance to build your resume and network – all while gaining three upper-division credits.
