Events Intern - Idaho Central Arena

Idaho Central Arena is looking for a student interested in working at the arena & in the events management industry in a variety of positions. Idaho Central Arena hosts a wide array of events throughout the semester including professional hockey (Idaho Steelheads), a quarterly mixed-martial arts fight series (Front Street Fights), indoor concerts, trade shows, exhibition space and regional and nationally televised events like Big Sky men’s and women’s basketball championships.

 

Idaho Central Arena’s mission is to connect our visitors, locals and groups alike through a variety of experiences including events & meetings, and entertainment provided by our downtown Boise facilities. The ideal candidate will bring an enthusiasm for the hospitality and customer service industries with the ultimate goal of providing exceptional service to our guests while working in a dynamic and evolving work environment.

Opportunity/Project Duties:

  • Participate in a variety of aspects of arena & event management
  • Work in the will-call/ticket sales booth learning point of sale, ticketing vendor systems
  • Assist in guest services to help way-find, direct traffic, answer general questions
  • Work alongside arena and event sales & marketing staff for arena programming events
  • Work with event management staff on special projects or tasks during arena events
  • Work with facilities crew to learn setup, tear-down and preparation for arena events

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work during nights and weekends
  • Ability to work while standing for long periods of time
  • Team player – works well with others but can also take a project start-to-finish on their own
  • Positive, customer-focused attitude with a spirit of hospitality
  • Able to work in a fast-pace, sometimes loud environment
  • Ability to work with a variety of audiences & expectations
