Data Analysis Intern

Points Consulting (PC) is looking for an intern for the summer 2024 with the option to extend into the 2024 Fall Semester. We are open to hiring an upper-class undergrad or graduate student from any local college or university, including University of Idaho, New Saint Andrews, or Washington State University. PC is involved in a variety of statistical and data analysis on the topics of economics, demographics and housing. This is a perfect role for somebody interested in pursuing a job in consulting, data analytics, or public administration. Fields of interest with the most relevant application include economics, statistics, applied mathematics, data analytics/science, and political science/government. 

Duties could include a combination of the following: 

  • Data cleaning, treatment, and development of charts and tables for use in reports and briefings
  • Writing, especially on economic and demographic topics
  • Conducting web-based research on a variety of community/economic, real estate, and land use topics 
  • General project assistance at discretion of project managers
  • Support for project managers at local and semi-local (within 100 miles) events and client on-site meetings 
  • Additional adjacent skills in a wide variety of fields would be welcomed and utilized including: IT, social media, and business development

We are looking for a team member who can work 20 to 40 hours per week on a consistent schedule over the duration of the summer. Most work will need to be completed from PC’s office on Line Street in Moscow, Idaho but occasional remote work would be permitted. PC will provide a computer, monitor and other office equipment. Training will be provided by PC’s existing staff. If the intern is retained and interested in working during the school year, we would work with their school schedule during the Fall and Spring semesters of the 2024/25 school year. Lastly, PC is willing to work around occasional breaks and holidays, as needed.
