Lead the technical efforts to streamline and enhance the permit processing systems at WDFW support conservation and resource management. 

Envision developing business plans, consolidating all agency permits into a single system, and ensuring smooth operations with a focus on customer success and continuous improvement.

Duties:

Here is what you will be doing,

Amanda Product Manager and System Administrator: 

  • Product owner of the DFW Enterprise Permitting Solution (Granicus’ Amanda solution).
  • Provide vision and prioritization of service requests and project requests to implement permitting solutions.
  • Manage contracts related to the Enterprise Permitting Solution (Granicus’ Amanda solution).
  • Provide system administration of the Enterprise Permitting Solution (Granicus’ Amanda solution) in an application architectural environment.
  • Assess customer needs to create, configure, and maintain the application environment within Amanda
  • Troubleshoot and assist users with technical issues related to Amanda
  • Perform all tasks necessary to fulfill service level agreements (SLA) regarding Enterprise Permitting Solution (Granicus’ Amanda solution) services, including permit configuration, training and training recommendations, customer use cases, and customer support
  • Assist users and program units in creating, troubleshooting, customizing, and making improvements to solutions within the Amanda environment

Configuration Management: 

  • Work with business and Project Management Office (PMO) Business Analyst to understand requirements, and then understand the dependencies of business processes to existing and new technologies.
  • Work with the business and PMO Business Analyst to identify user business requirements by assisting in researching and analyzing user needs, preferences, objectives, and working methods, and studies how users consume content.
  • Plan and execute configuration management throughout the project lifecycle, including development, migration, deployment, and security
  • Oversee the daily management of configuration items and review and update configuration management processes.
  • Developing and maintaining configuration management processes and procedures, ensuring that appropriate views of processes and procedures are maintained and made available to those for whom they are targeted.
  • Design, configure, and test software and hardware application(s), specifically the Granicus Amanda solution.
  • Perform software installations, upgrades, and maintenance, specific to the position, primarily Granicus/Amanda.

Permitting System Consulting, Requirements Gathering and Implementation:

  • Build prototypes and present recommendations of permitting solutions based on requirement gathering sessions.
  • Use user journey mapping and customer centered design principles in recommended solutions.
  • Ability to demo a product/solution to create comfort and value for the customer through frequent socialization to minimize the impacts of change management.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with IT service offerings, rules/regulations governing solution opportunities, and ITS organization and team structure.
  • Strengthens relationships across the agency through continuous rapport building by identifying inefficiencies in current process or technology and effectively communicating the long-term value of innovation.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work Setting, including hazards:
    • Duties are performed in an office setting and require extensive computer use.
    • Office hazards include working under fluorescent light, repetitively entering data into computer, looking at computer monitor for long periods of time.
  • Schedule:
    • Typically, Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
    • A varied schedule may be required including working Saturday or Sunday and overtime during peak periods, system implementations, maintenance and outages.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Some travel may be required throughout the State to attend training, meetings, and conferences.
  • Customer Interactions:
    • Will work with the different programs and their staff, to identify permits eligible to be added to the system and encourage adoption of the new application. This will include working with the budget analyst (BA) to identify and capture requirements, vendor and vendor support staff to work through questions and issues and be the primary source of support for internal and external users.

 

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT related field AND four (4) years of experience with Enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) as system administrator and/or Vendor Manager in a medium to large organization.

OR

  • Eight (8) years of experience with Enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) as system administrator and/or Vendor Management in a medium to large organization.
     

Special Requirements/Conditions of Employment:

  • Undergo a background check, which will include fingerprinting.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following: 

  • Communications or Computer related associate degree from an accredited college.
  • Experience administering and/or building within the Amanda environment.
  • Experience and/or certification in Vendor Management activities.
  • Basic network troubleshooting skills, knowledgeable in network security.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting project artifacts verbally, written, formal, informal, official, vertical and internal.
