Overview The Boise State University Children's Center is the Early Care and Education center for students and staff on campus. We are seeking highly motivated and reliable students to support our full time teaching team in providing high quality care and education for our littlest Broncos (ages 8 weeks-5 years old).
Student staff work alongside lead and assistant teachers in the implementation of a child centered curriculum that honors and nurtures young children’s curiosities and places their interests at the center of the curriculum. Student staff learn how to prioritize the whole child by equally valuing all domains and supporting them through a play based, child inquiry driven curriculum and intentional environments. Finally, support respectful partnerships with children, families, and colleagues.
Opportunity/Project Duties
- Provide direct, in classroom support for children ages 2 months - 5 years old
- Engage in playful learning and inquiry in indoor and outdoor environments
- Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment
- Support social emotional development of young children
- Assist in 1-1 support to children with developmental delays and exceptionalities
Qualifications
- Flexibility and problem solving skills while work in a fast paced school environment
- A sense of humor
- Interest in child growth and development, specifically in the early years
- Experience working alongside young children
- Must be willing and able to get a Boise City Childcare License PRIOR to beginning internship (this application process includes completing a background check, fingerprinting, CPR/First Aid training, central registry check)
