Overview of Organization: Boise Cascade is looking for an organized and detail oriented individual to join our team. Boise Cascade has been in the business of manufacturing wood products and distributing building materials for over half a century. Today we’re one of the largest manufacturers of plywood and engineered wood products in North America – and the only wholesale stocking distributor for building products that can service the entire United States. Responsibilities:
- Student will learn about general ledger & month-end closing accounting, business analysis & financial reporting.
- Student will create accounting reports and reconciliations .
- Student will develop skills in communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analysis.
- Student will get exposure to the financial management team and accounting activities for the $2 billion manufacturing arm of Boise Cascade.
- Student will understand how to assist and support the accounting function of the company.
Qualifications / Applicant Requirements:
- Seeking a bachelor’s degree (preferably in Accountancy, Business Administration, or Finance, but not required).
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
Skills intern will develop:
- Adaptability and openness to change and ability to anticipate problems and provide innovative solutions.
- Knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and technological advances that maximize operating efficiency.
- How to communicate effectively in individual and group situations adjusting language or terminology to the characteristics and needs of the audience.
