HR Intern - Boise Cascade (hybrid)

Overview of Organization: Boise Cascade is looking for an organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team. Boise Cascade has been in the business of manufacturing wood products and distributing building materials for over half a century. Today we’re one of the largest manufacturers of plywood and engineered wood products in North America – and the only wholesale stocking distributor for building products that can service the entire United States. Responsibilities:

  • Learn about Boise Cascade Building Materials Distribution and the structure of the divisions.
  • Assist team in records retention compliance
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
  • Analyze job codes, job cards and organizational structures to all align with the continued growth within the business.
  • Work with HR service departments to set up automated performance and warning forms.

Qualifications / Applicant Requirements:

  • Seeking a bachelor’s degree (preferably in HR, but not required).
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and workplace terminology.

Skills intern will develop:

  • Learn how to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Gain an understanding of the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your role. 

Additional Requirements (such as a background check that is administered by your organization, drug testing, etc.)

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems.
