About JEMfriends JEMfriends, Boise, Idaho, is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to bringing opportunities of growth and stability for at-risk youth, ages 18-24 years. JEMfriends supports underserved youth who are experiencing homelessness or have aged out of the foster care system. JEMfriends works through our Independent Living Program, housing, Life Skills Classes, and mentorship to create positive outcomes for at-risk youth.
Summary of Position JEMfriends Program Support Interns are a vital part of changing the future of at-risk youth in the Treasure Valley and will experience personal growth gaining tools and skills to take with them into the non-profit or missions sector. The Programs Support Intern engages with the JEMyouth on a regular basis and provides direct assistance to the Programs Coordinator. The Programs Support Intern reports to the Programs Coordinator.
Opportunity/Project Duties
- Review and update programs manuals
- Contribute to planning and facilitating Life Skills Classes and cultural outings for JEMyouth
- Accept, organize, and distribute various donated items
- Plan celebration events
- Document events and classes through photos
Qualifications:
- Reliable transportation
- Can lift up to 25lbs, walk, and stand for periods of time
- Flexible to schedule changes
- Comfortable cooking and working outdoors on occasion
Skills you will develop:
- Planning, facilitating, and leading a variety of events (small to large)
- Program development
- Time Management/Organizational skills
Requirements:
- Pass a Background Check (This process is facilitated by JEMfriends)
