Social Media Intern - Idaho Youth Ranch (hybrid)

Overview of Organization: Idaho Youth Ranch is a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency that offers emergency shelter, residential care, youth and family therapy, job readiness training, adoption services,  and more for kids and their families. We also operate a network of thrift stores that help fund our youth programs and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in updating and refining brand guidelines to ensure consistent and cohesive social media presence across all platforms for programs, donor communication and thrift stores.
  • Develop social media guidelines for internal teams and external partners or influencers.
  • Create a suite of customizable templates for social media content, including posts, stories, hashtags, stickers and ads, that align with the brand’s identity.
  • Design visually appealing and engaging graphics specific to social media channels, such as infographics, promotional visuals, and story assets.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to produce concepts and content for upcoming campaigns, ensuring it aligns with the brand’s voice and goals.
  • Assist in creating a social media style guide that includes best practices for visual consistency and effective communication across platforms.

Qualifications / Applicant Requirements:

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn) 
  • Experience with design tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva preferred, but not required.
  • Basic understanding of social media trends, visual design principles, and typography.
  • Ability to work creatively and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Currently enrolled in a marketing, graphic design, communications, or related program preferred, but not required.

Skills intern will develop:

  • Branding and visual identity development for social media.
  • Cross-platform design and content adaptation for various social media channels and organization departments.
  • Social media content creation, including video and interactive posts.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive practices in social media design and outreach. 

Additional Requirements (such as a background check that is administered by your organization, drug testing, etc.)

  • All Interns will need to complete an application and background check (provided by Idaho Youth Ranch) before starting.
