Get your hard hat ready. We’re not just renovating the travel experience – we’re renovating our physical spaces too. And our Corporate Real Estate team is on the front lines of procuring, designing and developing spaces at all our hubs, stations and city locations across the world. From airport affairs and business services to planning and development, this team is responsible for all our leases and major construction and renovation projects, system wide.
The CRE Planning and Strategy (Analytics) team is leading the way to better informed decision making within Corporate Real Estate. As this is a newer team within CRE, we look to redefine the way the group uses data and analysis to improve decision making, streamline processes, and drive efficiency across the group. The internship role will be involved across projects as an active team member, learning how United operates internally and how to leverage analytical skills to tell stories with data.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze schedule data to convert into digestible models and dashboards
- Apply analysis findings and create stories to support financial justification for CRE projects in partnership with the division owner, helping to answer how much space we need, why we need it, and why now
- Consolidate real estate information (lease details and costs, construction timeframes and impact, etc.) in an easily accessible platform, and craft processes to keep this information up to date and accurate
This internship offers hands-on experience in aviation planning and the opportunity to develop valuable skills in a dynamic and strategic environment.
United values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply. While having the “desired” qualifications make for a stronger candidate, we encourage applicants who may not feel they check ALL of those boxes! We are always looking for individuals who will bring something new to the table!
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Currently enrolled in a college program (BS/BA) preferably in Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, Operations, Finance, Economics, or Aviation Management; must have at least one semester remaining at the conclusion of the internship
- Data querying, data visualization, statistical analysis, case study experience
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork
