Facilities Management Intern

Summary
Lidl US is searching for the next Intern to join our Facilities Management team! The Facilities Management Intern will work on a variety of tasks and assignments to support store HVAC and Refrigeration maintenance. This role will assist in remotely monitoring system performance to ensure operating at optimal levels and communicating with management on findings. The Facilities Management Intern will be provided with an opportunity to receive hands on training in facilities and property management.

 

*** This position reports to our Headquarters in Arlington, VA on a hybrid 3-day schedule. ***

 

What You’ll Do
Essential Functions

  • Oversees and manages assigned project and/or departments data, ensuring it meets device communication protocols for HVAC and Refrigeration
  • Identify & analyze the cause of device communication failures (wiring, addressing, power surges, etc.)
  • Develop and implement measures that will repair device communication failures and ensure more stable & consistent device communications
  • Provide support for day-to-day projects and tasks

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or in a team in an open office environment
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Must be a self-motivated individual
  • Ability to commit to a full time work schedule (40 hours per week)

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience 

  • Pursuing a degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Facilities Planning and Management, or other related fields at an accredited University
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior with a 3.0 or higher grade point average

Physical Job Requirements 

  • Ability to sit, stand, and move for extended periods of time between in-office desk work and in-field assignments
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Travel Requirements 

  • This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less than 25% of the time
