Responsibilities
Position Overview:
The intern will support the Safety Strategy and Risk Management team in enhancing safety protocols, identifying potential risks, and implementing risk mitigation strategies. This role offers hands-on experience in analyzing safety measures and contributing to company-wide safety initiatives.
Reports to: Director of Risk, Process Excellence
Duration: June 2, 2025 - August 8, 2025. Must be available for the first week (6/2 - 6/6), the last week (8/4 - 8/8) and at least 7 of the 8 weeks between 6/9 - 8/1. Any known absence must be communicated in advance to Talent Acquisition and the Hiring Manager.
Schedule/Hours per week: Monday – Friday, 30-40 hours per week during the 10-week program.
Location: Tampa, FL
Pay: $24.00 / hour
Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
- Analyze incident reports and safety data to identify trends and recommend preventive measures.
- Support the development and implementation of business continuity materials.
- Assist in reviewing and updating Incident Response policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Collaborate with team members on specific risk initiatives and projects.
- Research emerging trends and technologies in safety and risk management.

Qualifications
Educational Background:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in risk management, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or related fields.
- Strong academic performance (e.g., GPA > 3.0 preferred).
Technical Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of safety protocols, risk management principles, and hazard identification.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
Analytical Skills:
- Ability to assess risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Communication and Teamwork:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Personal Attributes:
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
