Asset Planning Intern

Tacoma Water is seeking a proactive and eager to learn Asset Planning Intern to join our System and Asset Planning work group. This internship offers a unique opportunity to study information technology, data analytics, and related fields to gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will work alongside experienced analysts and engineers, contributing to critical data-driven decision-making processes.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Data Integrity:
    • Design and implement applications to review, adjust, add, and transfer data between databases and other systems.
    • Data integrity tasks may include research, quality assurance and data quality control.
  • System Planning Support:
    • Assist in the creation, review, and updates of Planning & Engineering project charter, supporting long-term infrastructure planning and budget decisions.
    • Contribute to the development of standards and methods for cost estimating data, including defining data elements and resolving inconsistencies.
  • Asset Planning Support:
    • Support the analysis and visualization of asset and equipment data.


This internship is expected to be 40 hours per week, 12 weeks long and coincide with the summer break. A partial telework schedule may be available; however, a minimum of three days of in-office work per week is expected.

 

Qualifications

An equivalent combination to: 

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • Typically the applicant should be enrolled in college or study programs related to information technology or possess equivalent experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Education or experience in project management or technical writing
