Civil Engineering/ Environmental Internship

Location: Coeur d'Alene/ Lewiston

About the Role:

We are looking for an Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer of 2025! In this position, you will work closely with project managers, other engineers and team members to assist with various projects. Roles may be vary based on location, project load, and candidates' interests. 

This position is full-time. Generally, it will be a 40-hour, 5-day work week, however, work outside of these times may be necessary on a project-specific basis. Travel may be required for specific jobs and projects. 

Responsibilities:

  • Note: All responsibilities may vary based on project load, supervisor, and weekly tasks. Internships are a great opportunity for both growth and learning.
  • Process plans in the cities and counties of Idaho
  • Assist engineers in ongoing projects
  • Assist a civil engineer with various tasks associated with the project design, including calculations, plan production and review, and cost estimating
  • Assist with project site visits. The applicant may be required to navigate through a jobsite and must comply with all HMH and site safety requirements in the office and on the jobsite
  • Work on-site to contribute to environmental observation and inspection
  • Miscellaneous office and field duties

Qualifications: 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil/ Environmental Engineering or a related field
  • Complex problem-solving skills to develop and implement solutions
  • Interest in environmental studies and projects
  • Strong desire to learn and grow through mentorship
  • Time management for both self and others
  • General idea of computer-aided design software knowledge is encouraged (AutoCAD, Civil3D)
  • Microsoft Suite knowledge and skills
  • Map creation software experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
