Overview of Organization: Idaho Smart Growth is a statewide nonprofit tackling the biggest challenges that come from growth through our mission: bringing people together to create great places to live. From our headquarters in downtown Boise, we operate in the unique place where land use planning, transportation, conservation, and community empowerment intersect. In this role, you will build out our organization’s greatest efforts in awareness and digital engagement. Take charge on our biggest communication platforms by implementing social media strategies and offering website updates to provide greatest user experience, and supporting the technical production of our podcast series through audio and video setup, editing, and publication.
Responsibilities:
- Align ISG communications strategic plan with social media opportunities
- Create social media content across a variety of platforms throughout the semester
- Draft website updates to reflect best and promising practices in user-centered design
- Stage ISG’s podcast studio to capture high-quality audio and video content
- Edit and publish ISG’s podcast across a variety of platforms
- Track relevant data on social media, website, and podcast engagement
Qualifications / Applicant Requirements:
- Interest in community development principles
- Some familiarity with social media management and web design
- Some experience with audio and video content creation
Skills intern will develop:
- Strategic planning and implementation, especially in communications
- Nonprofit project management
- Audio/Video content production
- Social media management
- Website design and management
- Community engagement
