Banquet Server and Set up

What I liked

I like my coworkers and the ability to get a lot of hours in. It is a pretty relaxed job and I get to see a lot of different groups that come in. Many of the business conferences that have come in have shown me the variety of different job opportunities that are out in the world. I have also enjoyed the cool benefits that have come with this job. I was able to save my family a lot of money by using my employee discount on hotel rooms when they visited.

What I wish was different

We do not have scheduled out times which can make it difficult to plan my days and weeks. With the schedule being based on events it is sometimes difficult to manage my personal and homework time because it changes every week. However that being said they have been generally good at working with my availability, it just took sometime to figure out what days and times I wanted to say I was able to work.

Advice

One piece of advise I would share about this experience is that it is good to try new jobs in different fields. Before my time at The Grove Hotel I worked in the restaurant business, I am grateful I branched out a little bit and tried something that developed new skills and improved my work ethic. This job has given me another job experience to learn from and widen my network.
